Steven Joseph Christopher being escorted from federal court for allegedly threatening to kill president-elect Barack Obama, Jan. 16
A man has been arrested for threatening to assassinate the US President-elect, saying Barack Obama appointed Jews in Key posts.
The Secret Service took 42-year-old Steven Joseph Christopher into custody in Brookhaven, Mississippi, Friday on charges of threatening to kill Obama, US federal prosecutors announced.
"Threats against the president-elect will be taken very seriously… Use of Internet chat rooms to express those threats is as much a crime as uttering the words. Threats of this nature will be pursued swiftly and vigorously,'' said US attorney for Mississippi Dunn Lampton.
Christopher could face a five-year prison sentence or $250,000 fine if convicted after appearing in federal court.
"I have decided I will assassinate Barack Obama. It's really nothing personal about the man ... But I know it's for the country's own good that I do this," Christopher wrote in a website posting on January 11, according to the Secret Service.
"It's not because I'm racist that I will kill Barack, it's because I can no longer allow the Jewish parasites to bully their way into making the American people submit to their evil ways."
On the website, Christopher said that Obama had appointed Jews to key positions in the future administration, despite the fact that they had masterminded the September 11 attacks on the twin towers in New York.
"He [Obama] is the puppet of the Jews. The Jews control the world. They need to be stopped," Christopher shouted as he was being escorted from federal court in Jackson on Friday.
In early November, Obama appointed Rahm Emanuel as the next White House chief of staff, the highest-ranking member of the president's Executive Office.
Rahm Emanuel, who is named after a Zionist combatant, has served for the Israeli military during the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
Following his appointment, Emanuel's father Benjamin, made remarkably racist remarks about Arabs while commenting on the benefits of Obama's choice of White House chief of staff for Israel.
"Obviously he will influence the president to be pro-Israel. Why wouldn't he be? What is he, an Arab? He's not going to clean the floors of the White House," Benjamin Emanuel, father of Rahm Emanuel, told the Israeli Ma'ariv daily.
According to Israeli papers, Benjamin Emanuel is a Jerusalem-born pediatrician who was a member of the Irgun (Etzel or IZL), a militant Zionist group that operated in Palestine between 1931 and 1948.

BOLIVIA TO TAKE ISRAEL TO THE HAGUE FOR ATROCITIES AND WAR CRIMES
Bolivia to take Israel to The Hague
Fri, 16 Jan 2009 19:35:31 GMT
Israel ignores international calls to end Gaza invasion.
Bolivia is seeking to take Tel Aviv to International Criminal Court over the brutal atrocities the Israeli forces have committed in Gaza.
The Andean state says it is intended to make regional allies take a unified stance against "the Israeli political and military leaders responsible for the offensive on the Gaza Strip" and make it to stand trial at the international body in the Hague, said Sacha Llorenti, whose portfolio covers civil society.
Moves to begin the legal process will begin "probably next week," Bolivia's deputy justice and human rights minister Wilfredo Chavez told journalists during the visit to Geneva, AFP reported on Friday.
Bolivia followed in the steps of its ally Venezuela and severed diplomatic ties with Israel over its massacre of the Gazans and snubbing the international calls for an 'immediate' and 'durable' truce, said the Latin American governments.
The Bolivian president Evo Morales told a group of diplomats in the administrative capital of La Paz that he will request the International Criminal Court (ICC) to file genocide charges against Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
The ICC is competent to adjudicate war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide committed after 2002.
Israel and its closest ally, the United States, are not among the 108 signatories of the Rome Statute creating the Hague-based court in 2000 to investigate and prosecute war crimes.
After 21 days of non-stop bombardment and aggression, the Israeli invasion of Gaza has left 1,133 Palestinians killed and more than 5,200 wounded.

NO EVIDENCE MADOFF TRADED A SINGLE SHARE FOR CLIENTS.SAYS REGULATOR
• Watchdog has examined books since 1960
• Statements showing trades now look fictitious
The mystery surrounding Bernard Madoff's $50bn Ponzi scheme deepened further last night as it emerged there was no evidence the alleged fraudster traded a single share on behalf of his clients.
America's financial industry regulatory authority, told the Guardian that in more than 40 years examining the books of Madoff's brokerage, investigators never saw a share traded on behalf of his investment advisory business.
Madoff is said to have confessed that his investment business was a Ponzi scheme that siphoned $50bn from friends, charities and thousands of others. The brokerage, meanwhile, was a legitimate business trading shares wholesale on behalf of investment banks, mutual funds and other institutions.
"Our investigations of Bernard Madoff's broker dealership showed no evidence that any shares were ever traded on behalf of his investment advisory business," a spokesman for Finra said, adding that the regulator had been looking at his books since 1960.
Clients of Madoff's investment advisory business received statements that showed hundreds if not thousands of trades made by the brokerage every year. Richard Rampell, an accountant from Florida who had several clients who were victims of Madoff's alleged scam, saw dozens of statements.
"Everything I saw on those statements told me that Madoff was clearing his own trades. There was no third party mentioned on any of those statements," Rampell said. "Different firms do things differently. For example, if I saw a statement from Bear Sterns, it would show that the trades were cleared by a third party like Goldman Sachs. If I saw a statement from Merrill Lynch, it would show that the trades were cleared in house. Madoff's statements were just like Merrill Lynch statements. They showed the trades were cleared by his own firm."
Rampell saw his first Madoff statement in 1985, describing it as "just incredible". He said the document showed dozens and dozens of the 1099 and 1099B tax forms required every time a security is bought and sold for a profit. It now appears the statements were fictitious as there is no evidence to prove Madoff bought and sold a single share on behalf of his clients.
Steve Harbeck, the chief executive of the Securities Industry Protection Corporation who is overseeing the Madoff bankruptcy to ensure clients get compensation, said: "I do not have any evidence to contradict that. This is an amazing story that something like this could have gone on undetected for so long."
Harbeck said he believed Madoff was defrauding clients at least 28 years ago. "I have seen evidence to that end and I have nothing to contradict it," he said.
The securities and exchange commission, America's financial regulator, had been warned about Madoff's firm since at least 1996. Sources close to the investigation said last night that had the SEC asked Finra for evidence of how Madoff was making such profitable trades, the fraud would have been uncovered more than a decade ago.
Madoff's lawyer, Ira Sorkin, declined to comment.

US MILITARY REPORTS WARNS "SUDDEN COLLAPSE" OF MEXICO IS POSSIBLE
U.S. military report warns 'sudden collapse' of Mexico is possible [Click to print]
By Diana Washington Valdez | El Paso Times | Jan. 13, 2008
EL PASO - Mexico is one of two countries that "bear consideration for a rapid and sudden collapse," according to a report by the U.S. Joint Forces Command on worldwide security threats.
The command's "Joint Operating Environment (JOE 2008)" report, which contains projections of global threats and potential next wars, puts Pakistan on the same level as Mexico. "In terms of worse-case scenarios for the Joint Force and indeed the world, two large and important states bear consideration for a rapid and sudden collapse: Pakistan and Mexico.
"The Mexican possibility may seem less likely, but the government, its politicians, police and judicial infrastructure are all under sustained assault and press by criminal gangs and drug cartels. How that internal conflict turns out over the next several years will have a major impact on the stability of the Mexican state. Any descent by Mexico into chaos would demand an American response based on the serious implications for homeland security alone."
The U.S. Joint Forces Command, based in Norfolk, Va., is one of the Defense Departments combat commands that includes members of the different military service branches, active and reserves, as well as civilian and contract employees. One of its key roles is to help transform the U.S. military's capabilities.
In the foreword, Marine Gen. J.N. Mattis, the USJFC commander, said "Predictions about the future are always risky ... Regardless, if we do not try to forecast the future, there is no doubt that we will be caught off guard as we strive to protect this experiment in democracy that we call America."
The report is one in a serious focusing on Mexico's internal security problems, mostly stemming from drug violence and drug corruption. In recent weeks, the Department of Homeland Security and former U.S. drug czar Barry McCaffrey issued similar alerts about Mexico.
Despite such reports, El Pasoan Veronica Callaghan, a border business leader, said she keeps running into people in the region who "are in denial about what is happening in Mexico."
Last week, Mexican President Felipe Calderon instructed his embassy and consular officials to promote a positive image of Mexico.
The U.S. military report, which also analyzed economic situations in other countries, also noted that China has increased its influence in places where oil fields are present.
