HOW FANNIE MAE & FREDDIE MAC EFFECTIVELY COLLAPSED THE US ECONOMY

Last week, Congress passed a housing bill that gave the Treasury Department a blank check to inject billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars into mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, snatching them from insolvency. To accommodate this blank check, Congress obligingly raised its debt ceiling by $800 billion. Ouch! That’s nearly a trillion dollars. Why was it necessary to incur this potentially crippling public debt to bail out two completely private, for-profit behemoths, which have run themselves into bankruptcy with their own risky investment schemes? Policymakers said it was essential to maintain the country’s creditworthiness with foreign lenders, which today hold about one-fifth of Fannie and Freddie securities. According to a July 21 report by Heather Timmons in The New York Times:

One out of 10 American mortgages is, in effect, in the hands of institutions and governments outside the United States.¹

Ten percent of American mortgages are now owned by foreigners? Doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of Fannie Mae (the Federal National Mortgage Association) and Freddie Mac (the Federal Home Mortgage Corporation)? They were supposedly set up to fund “the American dream” – home ownership by Americans. Today, American homes are owned by anonymous pools of private investors, many of whom are foreign governments and foreign central banks. How did we manage to give away the farm? And why are we bowing to the interests of foreign investors to the point of driving our own government into bankruptcy? The federal debt is already nearly ten trillion dollars, more than the government can ever possibly repay with taxes.

According to analysts, the bailout of the two mortgage giants is necessary “because America’s relations with a host of countries are intricately tied to Fannie and Freddie,” and because we need to assure “Americans’ future ability to gain access to credit. If foreign companies and governments abandon United States investments, home, auto and credit card loans will be much more difficult to come by.”²

The same sort of argument was once made by U.S. banks to get Third World countries to pay up on their foreign loans. The U.S., it seems, has finally achieved Third World debtor-nation status. For the last half century, the push for “free trade” has been all about preserving profitable opportunities for investment, finding ways to “make money” without actually making anything, exploiting the work of others by buying up corporations around the world and drawing profits off the top. But now the tables have turned. We have gone from being the world’s largest creditor to the world’s largest debtor. We spent our dollars abroad and now they are coming back to shop for our own real estate and corporate assets. Timmons observes:

Asian institutions and investors hold some $800 billion in securities issued by Fannie and Freddie, the bulk of that in China and Japan. China held $376 billion and Japan $228 billion as of June 2007 . . . . Russian buyers hold $75 billion. Sovereign wealth funds in the Middle East are also believed to be big investors in Fannie and Freddie debt.

Sovereign wealth funds (investment funds of sovereign nations and their central banks) are now busily buying up U.S. assets, in what Bill Bonner has called “the biggest transfer of wealth in history.” Writing in The Daily Reckoning on July 11, he observed:

[T]he balance sheet of the U.S. Fed shows $2.3 trillion of US treasury debt held in custody for foreign central banks. The harder the Fed fights the [economic] correction . . . the more money and credit it puts out. This monetary inflation causes prices for oil and imports to rise . . . and more money goes into foreign reserves and Sovereign Wealth Funds in the East, to be used to buy more assets in the West. Thanks to America’s mad monetary policy, these private assets are being taken into public ownership. Some of America’s most important properties are being nationalized . . . but by other nations.

The ultimate irony is that these other nations may be buying our federal bonds and mortgage-backed securities with money they simply created on a printing press. John Succo is a hedge fund manager who writes on the Internet as “Mr. Practical.” He estimates that as much as 90 percent of foreign money used to buy U.S. securities comes from foreign central banks, which print their own local currencies, buy U.S. dollars with them, and then use the dollars to buy U.S. securities.⁴ These nations are doing what Congress itself has declined to do: exercising the sovereign right of governments to print their own money.

Unlike the U.S. Federal Reserve, which is wholly owned by a consortium of private banks, the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) is actually owned by the Chinese government. When Chinese merchants, awash with U.S. dollars, cash them in for local currency to pay their workers, the PBoC obliges by swapping dollars for government-issued renminbi. The workers get paid in local currency, and the PBoC gets the dollars for the cost of printing the renminbi. The PBoC then uses the dollars to buy either U.S. interest-bearing bonds or Fannie and Freddie securities, which have conveniently opened up U.S. real estate to foreign investment. In effect, American citizens are paying a foreign government to turn U.S. debt into money, using currency the foreign government issued by fiat (Latin for “let it be” or “so be it” – money simply ordered into existence by the sovereign).

Why doesn’t the U.S. government just issue its own fiat money? That solution may seem radical now, but it could start to look better if Congress has to do what President Roosevelt did in 1933 – declare national bankruptcy and call for a plan of reorganization. There is simply not enough money in the public till to bail out Bear Stearns, IndyMac, and now the private mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as pay $500 billion annually to service a gargantuan federal debt, and still have enough money left over to repair our failing infrastructure, develop sustainable energy systems, and generally provide for the Common Wealth. The cookie jar is empty, and it is empty because private profiteers have been helping themselves to the cookies.

If the Federal Reserve were made a truly “federal” agency, Federal Reserve Notes (dollar bills) could simply be issued by the U.S. government, instead of being borrowed from a private banking system that creates them with accounting entries and charges interest for the privilege. Rather than scrambling to find foreign investors to roll over a $10 trillion debt, Congress could just pay off the debt as the bonds came due, using the same sort of money that foreign central banks used to purchase the bonds in the first place – government-issued national currency. Congress would just be giving them their fiat money back.

As for Fannie and Freddie, they are too big to fail; but they aren’t too big to be nationalized. If we the people are paying the bills, we should get the stock. Fannie Mae began in the 1930s as a truly federal agency, funded by a wholly government-owned bank. The Reconstruction Finance Corporation (RFC) advanced its own federal credit, which was used to fund not only the New Deal but the rapid industrialization that led to victory in World War II.⁵ The result was to make America the world leader in industry and productivity for most of the rest of the century. It may be time to try that experiment again. The RFC had some flaws, but they could be worked out. That is another subject, to be covered in another article. The bottom line here is that the deed to the farm needs to remain on these shores, and so does the sovereign power to issue money and credit. The existing system of banking and credit creation is teetering on the brink of a collapse brought about by its own internal contradictions and corruption. The system has long since failed in its primary mission of channeling this country’s resources towards investment in a sustainable future. As it stumbles from crisis to crisis, we have neither the time nor the resources to give it yet another chance to do the job. The time has come to clear the boards and begin a new game with new rules.

HUGO CHAVEZ AND THE SOUTH AMERICAN UNION-NEW WORLD ORDER??

Many have said over the years that Hugo Chavez is an Illuminati puppet, citng his capture during the Venezuela coup back in 2002 and his still being here with us among the living, but have not really gone into or been able to go with something of substance, really because he hasn’t done anything blatantly NWO-like. Now, his real function has come into view.


Novinite.com reports that twelve South American nations have come together to form Unasur, a regional union. They are: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela. They even plan to have their own president and elections. Just another step to making a world government with the continents as superstates controlled by it. David Rockefeller, Chase Manhattan Bankster, says in his book Memoirs on p. 405:

For more than a century, ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents such as my encounter with Castro to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that is the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.

Back to Chavez. During the 2002 Venezuelan military coup, Hugo Chavez said that when he was captured and taken by the military high command to the Venezuelan island of Orchila, he saw a private plane with US markings on it ready to take him away to exile. Now I won’t take just his word for it, but given the fact that those carrying out the coup said that they did it because they blamed him for the killing of 11 anti-government demonstrators, I think that there might be something to this statement. What is possibility turns into certainty after eyeing this New York Times piece:

Senior members of the Bush administration met several times in recent months with leaders of a coalition that ousted the Venezuelan president, Hugo Chávez, for two days last weekend, and agreed with them that he should be removed from office, administration officials said today.

Of course the government spun it, saying that the opposition leaders came to them and the government agreed with them that he should be removed from office. Well, if the Venezuelan military guys were doing it on their on dime and time, why would they need to go to the US for anything?

Still, critics say, there were several signs that the administration was too quick to rally around the businessman Pedro Carmona Estanga as Mr. Chávez’s successor.

One Democratic foreign policy aide complained that the administration, in phone calls to Congress on Friday, reported that Mr. Chávez had resigned, even though officials now concede that they had no evidence of that.

And on Saturday, the administration supported an O.A.S. resolution condemning ”the alteration of constitutional order in Venezuela” only after learning that Mr. Chávez had regained control, Latin American diplomats said.

How would they know that Chavez resigned when he hadn’t? With past circumstances similar to this, such as running the Pinochet and other military coups across the world, why should we believe that the same was not the case here?

Before the coup, Chavez had brought the country’s inflation rate down from 40-12%, an awesome feat for any nation, and upped primary school enrollment by 1 million.

Maybe the mass protest that got Chavez back in was instigated by the Illuminati, maybe not, but whatever the case, he is in now. The Illuminati are masters of deception and long-term planning. Staged incidents, fake opposition, and good cop/bad cop scenarios are their bread and butter. Another favorite of theirs is the two steps forward, one step back technique. They knew that a superstate of the Americas, both North and South America was way too big a job, so they used him to kill the Free Trade Area of the Americas, wait things out a couple of years, and then roll this out. What they have done here is use him, under a sort of neo-socialist track, to get the people on his side. The Venezuelan people know from hard experience that the European and US powers wish to control and exploit them, and so the anti evil US empire banner is used in combination with this to build strong rapport with him and thus keep him, or someone else with the same rhetoric, in power until the final world government trap can be sprung. Prior to the Brasilia summit, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez described the “empire” of the United States as Unasur’s “number one enemy”.

The Brazilian president boasted that this showed that South America was “becoming a global player”. You wish, bud. You wish.

But…perhaps Hugo Chavez is just a guy who is just looking out for his fellow Venezuelans, and just sees this as a way to counter out of control US imperialism. Ok. However, It is admitted by the Freemasons themselves that many US presidents, bankers, media barons, businessman, and other famous people have held high places in their ranks. Secret handshakes and signs too, they also admit they have. Here’s one of them, displayed on a proud “e-Mason” site.

And compare to this photo of Chavez, dressed in the much beloved ritual Illuminati color red. This one would fit so well in Texe Marrs’ Codex Magica. Knowing that these secret society initiates have these handsigns, and that they often can be found in positions of leadership and influence, it is impossible to a fully functional logical mind to just dismiss this straight off. Have you ever seen anyone you know, other than gang members, (bigger gangs such as the Crips and Bloods do have intelligence agency liasons and connections by the way) put their hands in anything resembling these positions?

US ACCUSED OF BACKING TERRORISM IN PAKISTAN

Pakistan has accused the US of backing militancy within the country, saying this goes against the grain of the Washington-led global war against terror.

Quoting "impeccable official sources", The News reported on Tuesday that "strong evidence and circumstantial evidence of American acquiescence to terrorism inside Pakistan" was outlined by President Pervez Musharraf, army chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt. Gen. Nadeem Taj in separate meetings with two senior US officials in Islamabad on July 12.

The visit of the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen and CIA Deputy Director Stephen R. Kappes, "carrying what were seen as India-influenced intelligence inputs had hardened the resolve of Pakistan's security establishment to keep supreme Pakistan's national security interest even if it meant straining ties with the US and NATO", the newspaper said.

It quoted a senior official with direct knowledge of the meetings as saying that Pakistan's military leadership and the president asked the American visitors "not to distinguish between a terrorist for the United States and Afghanistan and a terrorist for Pakistan".

"For reasons best known to Langley, the CIA headquarters, as well as the Pentagon, Pakistani officials say the Americans were not interested in disrupting the Kabul-based fountainhead of terrorism in Balochistan nor do they want to allocate the marvellous Predator (unmanned armed aerial combat vehicle) resource to neutralise the kingpin of suicide bombings against the Pakistani military establishment now hiding near the Pakistan-Afghan border," The News said.

During the meetings, the US officials were also asked why the CIA-run Predators and the US military did not swing into action when they were provided the exact location of tribal leader Baitullah Mehsud, "Pakistan's enemy number one and the mastermind of almost every suicide operation against the Pakistan Army and the ISI since June 2006", the newspaper added.

One such precise piece of information was made available to the CIA May 24 when Mehsud drove to a remote South Waziristan mountain post in his Toyota Land Cruiser to address the media and returned to his safe abode.

"The United States military has the capacity to direct a missile to a precise location at very short notice as it has done close to 20 times in the last few years to hit Al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan," The News noted.

Pakistani officials, according to the newspaper, "have long been intrigued by the presence of highly encrypted communications gear with Mehsud. This communication gear enables him to collect real-time information on Pakistani troop movements from an unidentified foreign source without being intercepted by Pakistani intelligence".

Mullen and the CIA official were in Pakistan on an unannounced visit July 12 to present what the US media claimed was evidence of the ISI's ties with Taliban commander Maulana Sirajuddin Haqqani and the alleged involvement of Pakistani agents in the bombing of the Indian embassy in Kabul.

"Pakistani military leaders rubbished the American information and evidence on the Kabul bombing but provided some rationale for keeping a window open with Haqqani, just as the British government had decided to open talks with some Taliban leaders in southern Afghanistan last year," The News said.

This article is to fine tune a picture, so you can better see, exactly, what is going on in Washington, DC. As you read on, keep this phrase in mind: "institutionalization of criminal racketeering" by our government against you. At the behest of Wall Street and the Wealthy Elite, our government has literally legalized theft through stock fraud in our capital markets.

Many people have asked why I walked out on RNC in 1996. It was actually for two reasons because I could clearly see, from inside knowledge, that both of the efforts to change US policy and head in dangerous, evil, based-on-lies directions were going to be complete catastrophes for the United States and its people. I could clearly see in 1996 that what they thought they could pull off like a cake walk was going to backfire in their faces and seriously endanger the future of America. I also knew it would seriously damage the financial health of most American citizens. Here we are 12 years later and I was 100% right then...and now.

The world was already changing for the better but that was not good enough for DC. They were trying to maneuver to rule the world as if DC were on some kind of moral high ground that other nations did not possess or could never reach. They knew they were going to have to lie to pull off their scam, and they were delusional enough to think they could do it and never get caught.

That delusional thinking based on being the world's biggest economy, and the planet's only remaining military Superpower, would not change. There were even some so brain damaged they thought the US could rule the world with intellectual property, economic and military might alone. They seemed to fail to realize what other nations think of the US matters, too, as to its willingness to follow.

The first reason I left RNC has been elaborated upon in prior articles and email updates, it was the realization that to get the Jew vote and money behind the RNC - so they could win elections - the higher-ups of RNC had cut a deal with the Communist Zionist Jews of the DNC. They agreed to allow them to come on over to RNC, dress up like Conservative Neocons and talking heads on TV and have their War Party. These are the Russia-hating Zionists and that is why they have now defected back over to DNC and the Obama ­ Zbigniew Brzezinski team of their expected new ObamaNation. Bush Co failed, and it is apparent - at least as of now - that McCain does not have a chance in November. He is an idiot, but so is Obama, albeit dangerously so, if he thinks he can turn this disaster around into an "American victory".

Zbigniew is the author of Russia-hate and he schemes of world grandeur: The Grand Chessboard...the 'geostrategic imperative' now all dressed up as the lunatic global 'War on Terror.'

That was the day that the RNC sold out any vestiges of being the "conservative party" of America and I, as a conservative, was offended. They turned communist to win elections but knew that they could not sell communism to America. They chose to wrap up as Fascism in the flag, and Christianity, and patriotism and sell that instead and brow-beating Americans with a media empire scheme.

My reason for departing went one step further than that because the RNC policy makers could clearly see that such a plan was going to need a Main Stream Media system that was bullet-proof, so such lies could be pushed on America and slicker the public to buy off on the change of directions in policy. This was also during the period of time that they acquiesced in the Zionist takeover of all the major US media outlets. I was there when they were talking about how easy it would be to fool Americans by constantly bitching about "Liberal media bias" and Americans would not figure out that the media was being fine-tuned into a US-UK-Tel Aviv propaganda axis machine, so our 'leaders' could perpetrate war crimes and genocide as if it were just another day at the office.

The second reason I severed my RNC ties, was that the policy makers were working on ways to literally institutionalize criminal racketeering and plunder unsuspecting Americans and foreigners at historically unprecedented levels - even including the days of the Robber Barons that led to the Great Depression.

Americans do not provide enough financing for the 'elections' (which are nothing much more than huge revenue opportunities for consultants, ad agencies and the media.) The Wealthy Elite do, so they needed many more Wealthy Elite beholden to the DC Lie System. To these monsters, American citizens are merely appendages and US Treasury liabilities...not their partners in criminal enterprise.

They tried to push through a Bankruptcy Reform Bill during the George H W Bush Administration but the Democrat-controlled Congress would not play along. The most important part of that bill included the elimination of Equity Shareholders of publicly-traded companies being entitled to "Party in Interest" status in bankruptcy.

In 1994, just before the House and Senate were taken away from Clinton, they pushed that bankruptcy bill through mainly due to urging of the Trial Lawyers because they had a plan. Clinton acquiesced and so did Congress, big bucks were promised to the DNC for this underhanded chicanery. The DNC was scrambling to come up with a way to make up for the loss of revenues and campaign donations caused when the DNC Communist Zionist Jews walked out and teamed up with RNC.

That was Step One - take the companies away from the equity shareholders and there was nothing they could do about it.

It did not seem like a 'major thing' at the time but it was the technique used by the Robber Barons to force companies into bankruptcy through illegal offshore trading schemes, blow out the shareholders of the company with $0 return, and takeover huge blocks of assets for pennies on the dollar. One such fraud was Global Crossing. Built at a cost of $56 billion and taken over for only $250 million by ST Telemedia of Singapore, a Bush Buddy in the fake Global War on Terror. I was the high bidder at $815 million and could not get the time of day. We had Wall Street by the throat on how they put the company down for that cheap takeover.

If you look around you, it is not hard to find many Americans who have been robbed into the poorhouse by such schemes. I am aware of many hundreds of companies and over



$1 trillion that was premeditatedly stolen from the average Mom and Pop investor.

I knew there was trouble coming - but not the extent of it - until Clinton did something in 1996 that proved to me that both the DNC and RNC are out to bury Americans and make them wards of the state.

The first thing Clinton did was change a provision of RICO, or the Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organization Act, 18 USC §§ 1961-1964, et seq., in whch part of the Criminal Code of the United States of America was very quietly amended to aid and abet the theft of the millennium. What Clinton and the Republican-controlled Congress changed was Civil RICO, specifically 18 USC § 1964(c), and thereby barred civil RICO in matters of stock fraud cases. They had planned a giant robbery of American citizen investors - and surely did not want to let them take control back and get treble damages when they proved their cases in court.

What Clinton and the then RNC-controlled Congress (1996) did was to legalize theft through the capital markets. By removing RICO as a remedy from Civil Plaintiffs, those who had been victimized by premeditated corporate, government and Wall Street fraud could not get treble damages and disgorgement of what had been stolen from them.

That was Step Two.

That created, at the urging of the Trial Lawyers Association, the entire "free legal services for class action stock fraud cases" and they went after the insurance companies who underwrote the D&O (directors and officers) insurance policies. Even the D&O insurers were in on it because they were making fortunes in the rush for new IPOs and stock plays, knowing all along that they would also line their pockets in the bogus stock fraud cases to follow. There were thousands of such cases and American and foreign investors in our stock markets were defrauded out of TRILLIONS of their hard-earned money.

This is part of their New World Order scheme of making everyone not in the inner circles serfs to serve these delusional, arrogant, bereft of goodness masters.

They needed something else, though, to eliminate the liability of the officers and directors of those corporations. It would not do to plan a theft of major corporations and assets, paid for mainly by common and preferred stock and Wall Street fluff, if the stock holders could penetrate this veil of deceit and nail the corporate management and board members. That would open the door to taking back everything that had been premeditatedly stolen through Wall Street and DC scams.

They had to have willing, corrupt management that would play along and get huge bonuses and Golden Parachutes after the maximum number of suckers had been lured in and enticed to cough up their money. They then turned on the machine to ruin the value of the companies, drive the share values down, trigger debt covenant defaults that were tied to the value of the equity shares, and blow out the shareholders to $0 left.

They also had to get the insurance companies who underwrite the D&O insurers to play along. No problem, just put them into the deal before IPO and run the value of the stock way up, they sell at or near the top of the all-time share value and then know they will only have to pay out about 2-5 cents on the dollar if they lose the class action stock fraud case in court.

Pretty slick, huh? Put a system in place that will rob you over and over again, unless you invest in just those companies that are not on the list for such underhanded takeovers.

That was Step Three because they had to have willing accomplices for when they lost the stock fraud cases.

Then there was Step Four.

What they then did was to change the SEC Disclosure Rules to let the directors and officers off the hook. Meanwhile, the insurance companies had already made a fortune on their insider positions, so paying a little back looked like they got kicked good in court. If a company inserted into the press release the news byte of the following Disclosure Statement, the corporate management and board members were in a condition of 'hold harmless'...and only the insurance companies were on the hook.

If the management and board put this statement at the end of their press releases, they are under the 'Safe Harbor' provision. If you read the tout about how a company's performance is going to change but do not read the 'Disclosure Statement' that comes under Laissez Faire or BUYER BEWARE you're in trouble. They are just trying to sucker you into buying the stock at ever-increasing prices and then yank the rug out from under your feet. The management members could claim that revenues were going to jump 1,000% over the next quarter because they acquired technology to deliver sex and orgasms over the Internet 'real time' and if they put in the Disclosure Statement the officers and directors are under the Safe Harbor.

They could do any idiot thing they wanted including lie about company performance, revenues, future prospects and if they put the Disclosure Statement at the end they had zero liability. SCIENTISTS CLAIM TO HAVE MADE BREAKTHROUGH IN SOLAR POWERED ENERGY

'Major Discovery' Primed To Unleash Solar Revolution: Scientists Mimic Essence Of Plants' Energy Storage System


ScienceDaily (Aug. 1, 2008) — In a revolutionary leap that could transform solar power from a marginal, boutique alternative into a mainstream energy source, MIT researchers have overcome a major barrier to large-scale solar power: storing energy for use when the sun doesn't shine.

Until now, solar power has been a daytime-only energy source, because storing extra solar energy for later use is prohibitively expensive and grossly inefficient. With today's announcement, MIT researchers have hit upon a simple, inexpensive, highly efficient process for storing solar energy.

Requiring nothing but abundant, non-toxic natural materials, this discovery could unlock the most potent, carbon-free energy source of all: the sun. "This is the nirvana of what we've been talking about for years," said MIT's Daniel Nocera, the Henry Dreyfus Professor of Energy at MIT and senior author of a paper describing the work in the July 31 issue of Science. "Solar power has always been a limited, far-off solution. Now we can seriously think about solar power as unlimited and soon."

Inspired by the photosynthesis performed by plants, Nocera and Matthew Kanan, a postdoctoral fellow in Nocera's lab, have developed an unprecedented process that will allow the sun's energy to be used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen gases. Later, the oxygen and hydrogen may be recombined inside a fuel cell, creating carbon-free electricity to power your house or your electric car, day or night.

The key component in Nocera and Kanan's new process is a new catalyst that produces oxygen gas from water; another catalyst produces valuable hydrogen gas. The new catalyst consists of cobalt metal, phosphate and an electrode, placed in water. When electricity — whether from a photovoltaic cell, a wind turbine or any other source — runs through the electrode, the cobalt and phosphate form a thin film on the electrode, and oxygen gas is produced.

Combined with another catalyst, such as platinum, that can produce hydrogen gas from water, the system can duplicate the water splitting reaction that occurs during photosynthesis.

The new catalyst works at room temperature, in neutral pH water, and it's easy to set up, Nocera said. "That's why I know this is going to work. It's so easy to implement," he said.

Giant leap for clean energy

Sunlight has the greatest potential of any power source to solve the world's energy problems, said Nocera. In one hour, enough sunlight strikes the Earth to provide the entire planet's energy needs for one year.

James Barber, a leader in the study of photosynthesis who was not involved in this research, called the discovery by Nocera and Kanan a "giant leap" toward generating clean, carbon-free energy on a massive scale.

"This is a major discovery with enormous implications for the future prosperity of humankind," said Barber, the Ernst Chain Professor of Biochemistry at Imperial College London. "The importance of their discovery cannot be overstated since it opens up the door for developing new technologies for energy production thus reducing our dependence for fossil fuels and addressing the global climate change problem."

Just the beginning

Currently available electrolyzers, which split water with electricity and are often used industrially, are not suited for artificial photosynthesis because they are very expensive and require a highly basic (non-benign) environment that has little to do with the conditions under which photosynthesis operates.

More engineering work needs to be done to integrate the new scientific discovery into existing photovoltaic systems, but Nocera said he is confident that such systems will become a reality.

"This is just the beginning," said Nocera, principal investigator for the Solar Revolution Project funded by the Chesonis Family Foundation and co-Director of the Eni-MIT Solar Frontiers Center. "The scientific community is really going to run with this."

Nocera hopes that within 10 years, homeowners will be able to power their homes in daylight through photovoltaic cells, while using excess solar energy to produce hydrogen and oxygen to power their own household fuel cell. Electricity-by-wire from a central source could be a thing of the past.

This project was funded by the National Science Foundation and by the Chesonis Family Foundation, which gave MIT $10 million this spring to launch the Solar Revolution Project, with a goal to make the large scale deployment of solar energy within 10 years

The Russians are often brilliant strategists, and never, even for a moment underestimate, them.

Some time around 2000, there was an "investment club" created. It was somewhere around $20 to $22 billion dollars and was promoted by a lot of high profile names mentioned often in this 9-11 / Caspian Basin fiasco, and some not mentioned at all. Names like George H W Bush, Tricky Dick Cheney, Nicholas Brady, John Sununu and others. All of their names surfaced in our investigation of what was going on in the Caspian Basin. They had all purchased front row seats to get at those trillions, and trillions and trillions of dollars in Caspian oil and gas.


Of course, that is the same John Sununu that had to resign from the Reagan Administration. Not sure what the connection was but the day he resigned Pan Am filed for bankruptcy. They must have seen trouble coming in losing their 'best customer.' Then there is the same Nicholas Brady of the GHWB Administration, the Brady Bonds fiasco and board member of Amerada Hess. The 9-11 Commission Chairman, Thomas Keane, is chairman of Amerada Hess and major shareholder, so, yes, he probably would have ignored the 'truth' for a board member involved in this Caspian Basin Investment Club.

There is a very real possibility that this 'investment club' was involved in getting 9-11 done, and it is also a possibility that they are about take a major hit due to Junior losing the Caspian Basin. I frankly hope they take a mega-billion dollar red ink shower and lose it all.

I hope they enjoy their front row seat for the aria, as the Fat Lady begins to sing, and that they lose those billions of still more stupidity of what they thought they could pull off and rip-off via the Caspian Basin.

The days of oil are numbered except for petrochemicals, the days of natural gas run as long as the Earth produces natural gas as a natural process of our planet. It is very apparent that Russia has now emerged as the dominant global giant in natural gas. What they control and how they will use that if pushed the wrong way could cause a meltdown in many parts of the world. The EU is paying attention and it is past time the US did, too.

The day is coming fast that automobiles will be powered by hydrogen and water, not oil and gasoline. I cannot foresee a time in the future that natural gas will NOT be the KEY energy issue, and Russia has already won that war, hands down. If this were a hockey game it would be Russia 50, US 0. If it were a basketball game it would be Russia 100, US 0. If it were a tennis match it would be Russia 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.

We lost, that's the proverbial bottom line. Game, set and match. It is over. Finis.

The next generation of and for mankind is nanotechnology, and it will be powered by natural gas, not oil. My company scientists are experts in that matter. Russia has just taken the lead on the NOW and the FUTURE, and has left the US behind, wallowing in its Oil-on-the-Brain mindset.

Why it took them so long to recognize 'catastrophe' is incredible. Maybe it is because the wealthy can afford to not pay attention to the realities right in front of their noses. There is indeed a 'core group' of Big Oil tycoons in Texas who have been called upon over the years to provide 'opportunities' for Junior, so the moron will have something to do other than be 'unemployed.' They have always received '911 emergency' phone calls from Daddy that dirty diaper duty is a must. One of those major Houston 'players' and I have spoken often. My friend is astounded at the lack of perception of the Houston andWashington power players and how it took them so long to figure out what 'stupid' looks like.

I can think of no reason whatsoever to spend even one second or $1 to save the reputation of Zbigniew Brzezinski and his lunatic vision for the world. If you have been paying attention, the Russian-UK oil partnership of TNK-BP is imploding. The people at BP recently announced that they had recalled the remaining 60 employees from Russia and powerful forces inside of Russia are forcing out the British CEO of TNK-BP. This all coincided with the recent announcement that TNK-BP was one of the three Russian oil and gas giants that were granted full access to develop Venezuela's vast oil reserves...perhaps as much as 4 trillion barrels. My bet is BP has not been invited along for the party in Venezuela.

This was in part predictable since the UK is harboring wanted fugitive Boris Berezovsky. Mr. Berezovsky was the former Yeltsin man and liaison to those same Caspian Basin nations that BushCo and the UK allies so desperately wanted to take over and control. They lost, now they are scrambling to turn their loss into a victory without America figuring out that the official clock reads '00:00' left in the game.

Simple rule when a 'team' of schemers and liars cannot get a deal done after 30 years of lying and scheming, it is time for both a new plan and a new team. This has now turned out to be 'a swing and a miss' for three long, agonizing decades.

Of course, it did not help matters when Alexander Litvinenko was murdered on British soil and the UK pointed the finger of blame at Putin. That was a stupid move on the part of the Brits, but like Bush, they specialize in stupid moves over in London. Matters inside of TNK-BP started coming unraveled when the UK continued its protection of their CIA-MI6 Zionist ex-oligarch Berezovsky and would not extradite him to Russia to face charges for crimes against Mother Russia. It was Berezovsky who tried to sell out the Caspian Basin to the US and UK and the entire Caspian Basin despises this Zionist Jew traitor.

One of the little known facts about how Big Oil is positioned in this global game is that Conoco owns 35% of LUKOil and there are no problems whatsoever between Russia and Conoco. They are getting along fine and kicking BushCo black and blue all over the world with LUKOil as their partner.

Evidently, the management of that American oil company figured out long ago that BushCo would crap the diaper, and they wisely chose to team up with who the winners would eventually be.

Just think, BushCo could have spent that $5 trillion Iraq war waste on alternative energy and domestic oil and gas production...and completely weaned the US from dependence on foreign oil. No, that was too logical and would mean that the Caspian Basin profits would be lost to them and their cronies.

But I digress, that would require that the goons in DC be able to grasp an idea that is was worthy for them to develop a real energy strategy, that to do something for America just might be the moral thing to do. No, alas, we cannot have realities contradict the delusional bullshit of the current regime in Washington, DC.

Well, those profits from global oil and gas control are being lost to 'others' anyway, so now it is time for America to demand a 'full accounting' regarding Use of Funds on that $5 trillion Bush blew through. It is way past time for a full accounting on what these idiots in DC did with $5 trillion that they heaped on the backs of the American taxpayers and have nothing to show for it but lies and failure, two destroyed nations and at least two million dead people.

Such is the tragedy of myopic, arrogant, greedy people chasing stupid strategic visions and plans that were, in reality, nothing but a stinky dirty diaper from the day they launched their grand scheme on September 11, 2001.
