Steven Joseph Christopher being escorted from federal court for allegedly threatening to kill president-elect Barack Obama, Jan. 16
A man has been arrested for threatening to assassinate the US President-elect, saying Barack Obama appointed Jews in Key posts.
The Secret Service took 42-year-old Steven Joseph Christopher into custody in Brookhaven, Mississippi, Friday on charges of threatening to kill Obama, US federal prosecutors announced.
"Threats against the president-elect will be taken very seriously… Use of Internet chat rooms to express those threats is as much a crime as uttering the words. Threats of this nature will be pursued swiftly and vigorously,'' said US attorney for Mississippi Dunn Lampton.
Christopher could face a five-year prison sentence or $250,000 fine if convicted after appearing in federal court.
"I have decided I will assassinate Barack Obama. It's really nothing personal about the man ... But I know it's for the country's own good that I do this," Christopher wrote in a website posting on January 11, according to the Secret Service.
"It's not because I'm racist that I will kill Barack, it's because I can no longer allow the Jewish parasites to bully their way into making the American people submit to their evil ways."
On the website, Christopher said that Obama had appointed Jews to key positions in the future administration, despite the fact that they had masterminded the September 11 attacks on the twin towers in New York.
"He [Obama] is the puppet of the Jews. The Jews control the world. They need to be stopped," Christopher shouted as he was being escorted from federal court in Jackson on Friday.
In early November, Obama appointed Rahm Emanuel as the next White House chief of staff, the highest-ranking member of the president's Executive Office.
Rahm Emanuel, who is named after a Zionist combatant, has served for the Israeli military during the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
Following his appointment, Emanuel's father Benjamin, made remarkably racist remarks about Arabs while commenting on the benefits of Obama's choice of White House chief of staff for Israel.
"Obviously he will influence the president to be pro-Israel. Why wouldn't he be? What is he, an Arab? He's not going to clean the floors of the White House," Benjamin Emanuel, father of Rahm Emanuel, told the Israeli Ma'ariv daily.
According to Israeli papers, Benjamin Emanuel is a Jerusalem-born pediatrician who was a member of the Irgun (Etzel or IZL), a militant Zionist group that operated in Palestine between 1931 and 1948.
